Dell + BuzzMG Event

I have had an amazing time working as a buzzSpotter with the BuzzMG and Dell groups this weekend. Last night they hosted a beautiful cocktail party at the stunning Holland House to celebrate this weekend’s festivities and the new Dell XPS 13. The room was filled with old friends and new, and over delectable treats and summertime cocktails, we all sat enjoying our conversations and exploring the new XPS.

The cocktail party last night was the perfect way to kick off the weekend, and now I am off to Bonnaroo to hang out in the Dell Sound Invasion Lounge. Follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram (@sierrajacobson) for all the updates – and don’t forget, you can watch the Bonnaroo performances live via the DellLive stream on Youtube at youtube.com/bonnaroo.

Academy Awards 2012

I have to admit to you that I teared up last night during the Academy Awards. The acceptance speech given by Octavia Spencer from The Help was so touching and so genuine it just tore at my heart strings. I also loved the beautiful speeches from the hearts of Meryl Streep and Christopher Plummer. Watching actors such as these great talents just inspires me to reach the goals that I have set for myself and always strive to be the best at my skill.

One thing that I always take away from the Oscars is that I definitely do not see enough movies in the theater. This year reminded me of the romanticism of the movies and though, yes, it may have been a plot to get us to buy tickets, it did remind me just how glamourous and memorable a great movie truly can be. And with that, I guess I need to see The Artist as soon as possible!

Though The Artist stole the show with the Best Picture Award, the fashions on the red carpet set the stage of glamour and old Hollywood. The trends I loved most were the white and red/pink hues and the textures of the gowns. You can never go wrong with classic beauty and I believe this year the ladies really hit the mark and brought back some stunning moments for us.

Who did you choose as Best Dressed, and what were some of your favorite moments from the night?

Imogene + Willie

Located in the trendy and always abustle 12th South district is one of my favorite boutiques and denim authority locales, Imogene + Willie.

With the first step into this retired gas station turned retail store you are greeted with the amazing sight of vintage americana details tucked into dark wood and industrial accented hideaways. To the immediate right you have the privilege of taking a sneak peak at the custom denim process at work. Known for their perfectly fit jeans, Imogene + Willie boasts equally perfect shirts, jackets, signature gym tees and vintage pieces.

With just a look inside the store, a hello to the I+W family or a listen to one of their song & supper music evenings you will quickly recognize that Imogene + Willie is a culture and not only your favorite shop.

Some of my suggested must haves:

The Imogene Rigid jeans – customized to fit you just right, all they need is a little love and a little wear.

The Shara white shirt. You cannot call your wardrobe complete without a classic white button down and it is my belief that I+W gave us a true treasure in this one. Made of brushed Japanese cotton fashioned into a slim cut featuring a narrow single-stitch placket and quarter-inch stitch edge lining the shoulders and back yoke seam, this piece is great for layering under a jacket, sweater or simply with jeans for a clean look. You need this.

Teresa Camo Blazer: Exclusively for winter 2011 and handmade right here in Nashville – this is something special.

I have loved the Clyde dress since I first stepped foot into this beautiful store. Worn as a dress with boots, or as an oversized shirt with jeans, this shirt/dress is simply ideal.

This goes without saying; of course you have to have one of the Imogene + WIllie signature vintage plus shirts. This is a Nashville staple.

Each piece within the walls of this one of a kind store comes with an amazing story of family, tradition and the lessons we learn as we grow. Carrie and Matt have created a culture all its own in I+W, and it something that we as Nashvillians crave; it’s the sense of community and family values experienced with meeting new people, hearing their stories and sharing lessons you have learned. Stop in, say hello to Carrie, Matt, Rhett, Ian and the whole Imogene + WIllie crew- you are bound to adopt the not only the Imogene + Willie way of life but the family as well.

A Man Repeller Arm Party

(Image from Man Repeller, www.manrepeller.com)

Of course we love the Man Repeller, that goes without saying, but we had to mention the amaze arm party going on in this particular post. Looks like the best party I’ve never been invited to.

Dear Man Repeller,

No need to say it, I know you sincerely apologize that you accidentally dropped my invitation in a puddle during a hurricane in Manhattan on your way to the post office to send it to me here in Nashville. Then, I’m sure your dog ate the back up invite and it was too late by then. No hard feelings. I’ll just wait for the next one. Have a happy repelling day.

Heart,

Sierra
